How many times can a convicted murderer appeal against his conviction and sentence in the UK legal system?
Q. Wondering, in the UK, is there a limit to how many times a convicted murdered can appeal against his conviction or sentence, and is there a time limit too? Want to know, as wondering how long it takes for family of a victim to actually be able to put it behind them and move on, without it all going to court again. Thank you.

How do doctors decide when a conviction or a belief becomes a delusion?
Q. At what point is the line drawn? When their actions resulting from said belief become dangerous? When the belief itself sounds blatantly irrational to us? But who are we to decide? There are tons of faiths, philosophies, and beliefs in this world? Why should it be any different if someone considers themselves God incarnate? If there is such a thing as religious freedom, do we have the right to deem them delusional? Should we not be consistent then and deem anything that is outside our own beliefs delusional?

A. Your last sentence puts it right on the money. The "doctors" will be the ones that decide by how it affects "their" personal beliefs. I know a doctor that ran an institution in Balboa Calif. back in the 80's that had a psychiatrist try to admit a person who he felt was delusional and the doctor reversed the decision since their personal beliefs mirrored his own. There is a lot of self righteous back biting in the psychiatric circles. Everyone wants to get their 15 minutes of fame in their field.

How much do you get paid for playing at a bar?
Q. I am in a band, and we're putting together music and demos so that we can play them at local bars and stuff. We're copyrighting all of it though, so nobody can try to take it. How much do you usually get paid for just playing at a bar? We're a metal/alternative band. And a question irrelevant to this, does it help to go to college when in a band? Thanks!

A. Depending on the bar, and how big of a crowd you can bring in, you could get anything from nothing, to free beer, or a percentage of the door. It usually ends up being nothing or beer.
