A. it is best to join organizations that you are interested in. colleges like to see that you actually care about the things you are involved in. so if you like playing a sport, join a team. if you enjoy volunteering, join a volunteer organization. it is best to show commitment and passion toward an activity, rather than worry what looks best. it's also good if you take a leadership role in an organization that you're involved in because that shows more dedication and responsibility.

A. It is a tough thing to do. Some members of our community tried that and it did not work. The different org. did not want to come under the umbrella because of differences in each group's Mission Statement. The umbrella group was attempting to coordinate the donations of time and money to ensure better results. It cause such a rift in the Community that the general consensus was to have each organization send two representatives for discussions on Community problems.

A. Go to and in the upper left hand corner, enter your zip code. On the next screen, you will get information on the nearest SCORE chapter. Call them and arrange for a free meeting with a SCORE counselor. How many political organizations exert control and influence over the United States Government?
Q. How many political organizations(secretive political organizations) exert control over the U.S. Government? I've read that there are 12 levels of government that have almost total control over the operations of our government. The CIA, CFR, Tri-lateral comission, and Military-Industrial complex are just a few of these organizations. What do you think?

A. America is controlled not by politicians but by corporations, bankers and Israel. This is it in a nutshell and the same for every government in the western civilisation. People's apathy in voting tied in with disinterest of politics has meant that politicians are no longer politicians per se, but mere puppets of the aforementioned industry. This has all been carefully planned in instituted over a period of time. People's disinterest in politics is not by chance, as our political elite has purposefully created a situation where no one cares anymore what they do, giving them even more power and less resistance to do whatever they so desire. It's ironic to think that people don't care abut politics when politics controls everything and plays… [cont.]

A. National Wildlife Foundation. dawn dishwashing detergent also has an easy program: They use Dawn to clean the animals. Perhaps you could run a donation drive for people to buy Dawn, and then collect them to donate to various shelters (homeless, battered women, etc).

A. try joining a club that does community service, or if none do, you can become a volunteer in your community and put in a year or two, and once it comes time to attend college, you can ask the people who worked with you for references.

A. Rotary has a strong global network of volunteers, so I would definitely check out to your local Rotary Club in addition to the other programs mentioned. If your high school has an Interact Club, that would be a way meet them as well. I don't think it would be a problem to go out your senior year (even though you may miss graduation), but since our students usually go out in their junior year of high school or after graduation, I would check with your school and your local Rotary District's rules to determine if you can go out your senior year. In our program, we send students to countries where they do not speak the language, so that they have to learn it. This adds to a tremendous and life changing experience. You are allowed to… [cont.]

What are some non profit animal focused organizations?
Q. What are some trustworthy non profit organizations that you know for sure are worth donating money to and that will use 100% of the donations toward the cause of protecting animals? I'm looking for organizations dealing with both pets and wild animals, animal abuse, endangered species, etc. I'm planning on starting my own non profit 'campaign' of sorts to support a new non profit organization like this each month. I'm starting with animals, but don't want to donate money to someone who will use it on something completely unhelpful to the actual cause.

A. Ok I have to let you know one fact-there are NO charitable organizations/non profits where 100% of the donations go to the actual cause. I look for a range of 80-99%, some people are comfortable going as low as 75% but not me. They may have some events where 100% of what they raise in donations goes to the cause but those are usually underwrtitten by a large donor. Unfortunately they have expenses too-salaries/insurance/ov erhead/office supplies-you know the same stuff for profit companies use. Check your yellow pages or online for a local chapter of what i consider are the best options below: American Council for the Blind-Guide Dogs paws peta humane Society Check on any charity through the better business bureau. A. Well for one thing, plastics that take decades to bio-degrade (rot into nothing) should be replaced. Every time you choose a plastic bag for your groceries you have something that won't go away for years. The same thing for plastic soda bottles. They last almost forever. In a study not long ago, these kinds of things were found to be the biggest pollutant of our oceans. They interfere with the natural order of everything from birds, to bacteria. There have been for years people who wanted to outlaw most plastics from our lives (the kind we use once and throw away) but the plastic industry has powerful lobbyist in places that urge law makers not to pass any kind of law that would reduce our consumption. Some cities have taken matters into… [cont.]

A. Yikes. That didn't sound good. Schools of that level like to see that you're really dedicated to something you do - they like to see that you put a lot of time and effort into it, and stuck with it for several years. If you have anything like that, you should definitely include it. Ahh, it's bad to just add "extra things", if they honestly didn't have a big impact on your life. Get involved with something that you're actually really interested in, not just what will look better in the end. You'll be happier and better off that way. However, some things which DO look good would be the work in the pharmacy (excellent), any leadership positions you may have, or community service. Graduate schools love to see community service. So you… [cont.]

A. How about you help someone on kiva.org? These people are trying to improve their situation for themselves and their families in the 3rd World by starting small local projects and businesses. You can help them directly by lending them money, interest free. The risk is actually very low as about 95% of the money is paid back. When you get it back, you help someone else! EDIT: Thanks for clearing that up, RoofingPrincess! Turns out Kiva doesn't charge interest, but Kiva actually deals with microfinance partners on the field and these partners do charge various rates.
