Youth activism is best summarized as youth voice engaged in community organizing for social change. Around the world, young people are engaged in activism as planners, researchers, teachers, evaluators, social workers, decision-makers, advocates and leading actors in the environmental movement, social justice organizations, campaigns supporting or opposing legalized abortion, and anti-racism, and anti-homophobia campaigns. As the central beneficiaries of public schools, youth are also advocating for student-led school change through student activism and meaningful student involvement. From Wikipedia under the

Q. OK, I am sure that everyone on yahoo answers has at least heard of what is often termed as 'climate change' or 'global warming'. I, personally have friends who are very much 'in' to it, as it were, involved in youth groups, campaigning, activism, etc, and I have been to a couple of marches. I live in London, where at the moment there is something called 'climate camp' occurring, (look it up on google). However, despite all this, I am still sceptical, firstly, because of my personality trait of dissent, and attitude of questioning things, secondly, because it feels like it's almost illegal to say you are a sceptic, and I, to be honest, don't like it. Also, there have been books written in support of the sceptic argument, which, although I… [cont.] Asked by spinelcooord - Thu Aug 27 14:38:10 2009 - - 14 Answers - 0 Comments A. Well it's unfortunate if you feel like you're in an environment where it's unacceptable to question global warming and climate change. To me, as long as you're asking sincere questions and willing to keep an open mind, there's nothing wrong with asking questions about any subject. The problem with global warming is that there are a lot of people who are absolutely convinced that it's all a massive hoax, and there is literally no way to change their minds. Because of this widespread level of denial on the subject, a lot of people feel like it's just unacceptable to question the subject, because most people who question it are completely closed-minded and unwilling to learn about it. The reality is that the scientific evidence shows… [cont.] Answered by Dana1981, Master of Science - Thu Aug 27 14:58:53 2009 Is it wrong to not want a job?
Q. I'll be honest. I don't want a job..well, the normal kind. All my life i've never really wanted a career. The only reason I have a job right now is to have money to shop with and save for my wedding in '09. But, I'm happier when I'm not working...and it's not that I'm lazy. Even though that may be how it sounds, I'm not lazy. It's just the things that are important to me aren't about having a career; working my way of the ladder. All I want to do is do missions work, be a youth group leader, be heavily involved in a church, and be a mom (someday). I want to live a life of activism...but, that's not a career nor does it pay.
