What can my 5th grader do for a demonstration on Civil War weapons?
Q. My son had to write a report on weapons used during the Civil War. He also had to make a poster and has to do a demonstration on the subject. The loading a gun thing has already been done and we are having trouble thinking of ideas.

A. Rifles were most commonly used. But if you don't want to do that, you might do something with a saber. Most pictures I've seen of cavalry have them wearing and even using sabers.

Do you need a licence or police permission to hold a demonstration?
Q. I am helping to organise a demonstration and I'm not sure if I need a licence or police permission to do so. It will be held in the city centre and we plan to march to our local MP's office. Any and all answers are appreciated.

A. If you are static, then restrictions can only be made by the police to prevent serious damage/disorder. If you are doing a procession, the public order act says: (4) Notice must be delivered to a police station (a) in the police area in which it is proposed the procession will start, or (b) where it is proposed the procession will start in Scotland and cross into England, in the first police area in England on the proposed route. (5) If delivered not less than 6 clear days before the date when the procession is intended to be held, the notice may be delivered by post by the recorded delivery service I've also attached a reasonable bit of info my friends of the earth. What should i do my speech demonstration on?
Q. im in a speech class i need to take to graduate, and tomorow i have to do a demonstration on how to do something, but i'm clueless as to what to do it on. Most people choose how to make a certain food (smoothie, cookies, pizza) it has to be between 4-6 minutes long, and cant be too easy (like a sandwich is too easy). other options are hobbies and techniques. any ideas?

A. If your teacher allows it, bring in some food and cook something. For example, if you want to show how to make cookies, bring in all the ingrediants, as well as some that are already cooked. Cooking speeches are always popular. Other options you could do is to show how you would do a magic trick, how to sign in sign language, how to administer CPR, how to do a dance, how to treat a bloody nose, how to hit/throw/catch a baseball. Those are just a few options. Basically you can do a demonstration speech on anything. Pick something you do a lot in your every day life. If you like cars, do one on how to change the oil. If you like to dance, teach a dance. If you like to cook, then cook. I hope this helps!
